かれこれ４０年前私が小学生のころ、当時娯楽の頂点に君臨していたのは、映画でした。その当時から何百もの映画を見てきましたが、その中でも今回のバンデットQは強烈な印象を少年時代の脳に植え付けられて、いつかもう一度見たいと思いながら４０年ぶりに今日にいたりました。その思いだけ４０年間くすぶっていたのです。なにしろ相当なご無沙汰なのでどれくらい覚えているか興味津々でしたが、結論から言わせていただくと、ほぼ覚えていません。
その中でも本作の巨大な顔が迫ってくるシーン、最後の消防士、そしてエンディングテーマの３点だけは覚えていて、４０年ぶりに恩師に会う感覚でした。 しかもその最後の消防士はショーンコネリーでした。 当時は 国産アニメーション映画『幻魔大戦』との2本立てでした。このアニメーションも好きな映画ですので、当時はなんてラッキー！
ちなみに今回の『バンデットQ』（Time Bandits）は、1981年製作のイギリスのファンタジー映画。
エンディングテーマ は オ・ラ・イ・ナ・エ（原題：Dream Away）。1983年2月25日に発売されたビートルズのジョージ・ハリスン（George Harrison）のシングル。
名曲のはずですね。
今回の映画はファンタジーのジャンルに入ると思いますが、私個人のなかではネバーエンディングストーリーと双璧をなす燦然と輝くファンタジーの作品です。これだから水野晴郎じゃないですが、映画は本当にいいものですね。
